A male impression is said to be achieved by an average frequency of c# (139 Hz) and lower, d - e (147 - 165 Hz) denotes a range of indifference, voices around f (175 Hz) are perceived as female. However:
(My own self-resonanting tone—which is in the lower third of the chest register, used e.g. when laughing, coughing etc.—is in the g - a range (196 - 220 Hz).)
