Immer wieder höre bzw. lese ich (selbst hier im Forum), dass Kleider, lackierte Nägel, MakeUp etc. gesellschaftlich nur bei Frauen akzeptiert werden. Und, dass Selbiges bei Männern unangebracht und sogar lächerlich sei. Die Vergangenheit jedoch zeigt, dass es weltweit und in sämtlichen zeitlichen Epochen anders war. Wenn sich konservative Geschlechter-Stereotype-Verfechter auf "traditionelle Werte" und "weil es eben so ist" berufen, dann kann man dies mit geschichtlichen Fakten widerlegen.

• The female specific pronoun "she" was invented in the 12th century.
• The word "girl" was gender neutral and referred to children of both sexes until the 15th century.
• High heels were invented for men and were worn predominantly by men until 16th century.
• From the mid 16th century to the 19th century boys would typically wear dresses until the age of 7.
• Until the early 1930s pink was considered the appropriate color for baby boys and blue the color for baby girls.
